Chessify answers a narrow but real problem: serious engine analysis is bound by hardware, and most players don't own a machine that runs Stockfish at the depth tournament preparation demands. By moving the engine to the cloud, Chessify lets a phone or a thin laptop drive analysis speeds - up to 1 billion nodes per second on dedicated servers - that would otherwise require a dedicated desktop.

The tool is best understood as analysis infrastructure rather than a chess app in the everyday sense. There is no play against humans and no lesson content; the value is entirely in throughput and integration. A desktop plugin connects Chessify's cloud engines to ChessBase, Fritz, HIARCS, and SCID, so existing analysis workflows gain cloud speed without changing tools, and PGN cloud storage keeps games synced across devices.

The catch is that the free tier's speed is too limited for the work the product is designed for, and the headline 1 BN/s figure comes from dedicated servers sold through coin packages rather than the flat subscription. For correspondence players, opening researchers, and anyone preparing lines against a specific opponent, the paid tiers earn their cost. For casual analysis, the engine already built into Chess.com or Lichess is enough.
