About Listudy
Listudy is a small but lovingly built open-source chess trainer that applies spaced repetition to openings, endgames and tactics from PGN. It is the obvious free alternative to Chessable if you already have your own PGN repertoire and don't want to pay for courses. Runs entirely in the browser, no account required for basic use, and the source is on GitHub. Competes with Chessbook and Chessdriller in the indie opening-trainer niche, but is older and has a broader feature set including blind tactics and a pieceless mode.
Pros
- Genuinely free and open source
- Upload your own PGN repertoire
- Novel blind and pieceless tactics modes
- Minimal UI, no dark patterns
Cons
- No mobile apps - browser only
- Content library smaller than Chessable
- Solo maintainer, slow feature velocity
